چکیده

منطقه گرایی یکی از سازوکارهای مهم برای همکاری و توسعه منطقه ای در میان کشورهای همجوار است که از نیمه دوم سده بیستم، مورد توجه قرار گرفت. در جنوب غرب آسیا، شورای همکاری خلیج فارس مهمترین سازمان منطقه ای است که اندکی پس از پیروزی انقلاب اسلامی ایران و از ابتدای دهه 1980 متشکل از شش کشور جنوبی خلیج فارس یعنی عربستان سعودی، کویت، امارات متحده عربی، قطر، بحرین و عمان به وجود آمد. شورای همکاری علیرغم گذشت حدود چهار دهه از پیدایش آن، برای تکامل منطقه گرایی و اتحاد منطقه ای با چالشهای اساسی مواجه است. بر این اساس، این پژوهش به دنبال بررسی موانع و چالشهای فرا روی شورای همکاری در چارچوب منطقه گرایی است. این تحقیق با روش توصیفی – تحلیلی و  با نگاه تاریخی انجام شده است و داده های مورد نیاز تحقیق به  شیوه کتابخانه ای و اسنادی جمع آوری شده است. نتایج تحقیق نشان می دهد که شورای  همکاری خلیج فارس در فرایند منطقه گرایی، منطقه سازی ناقص را انجام داده و به منظور تکامل منطقه گرایی و اتحاد منطقه ای با چالشهای اساسی سیاسی، هویتی، امنیتی و اقتصادی مواجه است. بر این اساس،تکامل منطقه گرایی و اتحاد منطقه ای در شورای همکاری امری بعید و دور از دسترس است.
