Abstract

Geographical and geopolitical characteristics are the main basis for the convergence or divergence of human societies. With the changing sources of power in the era of globalization, no country is able to function successfully without interacting and integrating with the global economy. Iran and India as hubs for connecting strategic resources, Multiple capacities and functions, the largest energy production and consumption markets, and also due to their security role, geopolitical characteristics, strategic resources, and ideological values, are the gravitation of emerging powers in these regions. The present study seeks to answer the question: What role do geopolitical factors and foundations play in the development of economic relations between Iran and India? These drivers are examined and analyzed using a descriptive-analytical method and test the hypothesis that; given the regional, geopolitical, and geostrategic position, as well as having actual and potential resources and potentials, both countries can play a complementary role in the international arena. In particular, India's high economic growth, benefiting from power components (hard and soft), and high technological capability, and Iran's favorable and strategic location and possession of strategic energy resources, increase the desire for cooperation and present valuable opportunities to Iran and India.
